Place has great customer service. Many good, honest, mechanics out there, however, few have the ability and patience to communicate to the customer what is going on clearly. The rarity comes in finding mechanics who know both. If you are looking for an easy place to pass inspection I would recommend looking elsewhere though, these guys are very thorough and take inspections very seriously. (I think a lot of other shops look the other way.) This is a legal issue and these guys have ethical standards; I think we all wish that our mechanics had ethics when it suited us (not getting ripped off) and had didn't have them when it suits us (at inspections). If you look at the reviews though; you'll notice all the 1s are from people that have failed inspection. I understand the concern as I had these guys catch a lot of stuff (sway bars I think were loose; other guys already passed me so I didn't care) the other guys didn't. I thought the same thing and was hesitant to write a review at first but getting to know them I think its just because they take their jobs seriously. A lot of mechanics will do anything to please a customer (RPL a part that doesnt need it for an unknown problem) but these guys are always gonna do the right thing which is gonna suck suck sometimes but be good most other times. If your are looking for a used car I highly recommend their pre-purchase inspection. Its about ~$100 and if there is something wrong with a vehicle I guarantee these guys are gonna find it. They give you a nifty report and talk to you about whats wrong with the car. I thought I had a clue about some things but didnt realize a lot of cars I was considering purchasing had a lot of issues I was unaware of. Although it kinda hurt my ego knowing how little I know, and kinda sucks finding out the car you had your heart set on is a piece of junk, it'll save you a lot of money in the long run. Also have a cool way to present the summary.

Thank you for the very detailed review and I appreciate your observation on a few of our low ratings, we know that our attention to detail isn't for everyone, we focus on our good customers! Thank you!

Brought my vehicle to them, not only were they able to diagnose the problem, they were able to fix it quickly, and offered sound advice for the future. I won't hesitate to bring it back for any additional needs if they arise! Keep up the great work!

I am from out of town and needed help. I was lucky enough to talk to the Owner. They were very helpful with the issues I needed. Went the extra mile. If I lived in Columbia this would be where I would frequent for my service and repair needs. Thanks

Thank you Alan for the kind review, we treat all of our customers like they are family, even if they live out of town!

Giving them one star is too much. This place will rip you off every chance they get.

Roger, thanks for taking time to leave a review, I am sorry that your truck failing a Motor Vehicle Inspection is reason to write a bad review. My advisor took you out to your truck and showed you the worn idler arm which you acknowledged, as we pride ourselves on showing our customer what is wrong with their vehicle, and gave you a very fair price on repairing it here. You are never required to do any repairs here but we have very strict guidelines that we follow per the State of MO regarding MVIs.

I walked in just to get my car inspected and they tried to tell me my truck had a bunch of extra problems that they could fix for me and wanted to get an invoice started for me.

Thank you for taking time to write a review, I wish you would have given us the time to show you what was wrong with your truck the day that we inspected it! You refused to even look at the obvious and/or did not want to know, we were not surprised by your review but we take pride in knowing that Midwest Autoworx did not give your truck documentation to put it back on the road unsafe for 2 more years. I am amazed by how quick consumers blame shops, for their lack of maintenance, when their vehicle fails a safety inspection that is designed to protect consumers from unsafe vehicles!
